Wednesday evening, daddy and the boys held their regular "two on one" wrestling match. ;-) I must admit, these have gone well over the years, no serious injury to date. Just because I would probably hinder all the great action, I pretty much leave the room when the match begins. It's the "mom" in me! Anyway, during the event, I heard an "Oh, no" coming from dad and I 'knew' that couldn't be good! Jordan had a collision with daddy's elbow and it knocked his front tooth back. (He's such a tough little guy, loves to wrestle and actually holds his own pretty well). Thank goodness dad had enough sense to try to get the tooth back into the correct position. He hasn't lost any of his baby teeth yet, so we knew a visit to the Dentist was in order. We kept him home from school on Thursday and took him in to see Dr. H.
He told us that Patrick did the right thing by popping his tooth back into proper alignment. He let us know that if the tooth had actually broken off in the gum, my little guy would have needed to see an oral surgeon to have it removed! Yikes! They did an x-ray on him and thankfully everything is okay! The tooth is fine, and will probably fall out soon, but nothing serious. We'll be buying a mouthpiece before the next wrestling match! ;-) Of course we took a camera with us to document his day!
He was a little nervous about the visit!
If you look close you can see the swelling around the right front tooth.
Watching t.v. and waiting for Dr. H. to check his tooth.
We had to leave the room for the x-ray, but Patrick was able to get a shot through the reflection in the mirror!
One of the dental hygienists was sweet and let him pick out a few toys!
Here is the x-ray...and we let out a sigh of relief knowing the tooth is okay!
Never a dull moment being a parent! ;-)
